As Popeye, you are trying to win Olive Oyl’s love by collecting tokens of her love: those things she keeps dropping from the top of the screen. After collecting the required number of items, you advance to the next more difficult level. Each level features a different layout of platforms and ladders.


Atari 8-bit Qb

Qb was originally written for the Atari 800 by Andrew Davie back in 1984. In 2001, Davie ported the game to the 2600. Move blocks around in the lower frame so that they match the upper frame. Jump between blocks when they are adjacent, otherwise you can only push them around. Fruit appears that you can jump on for points, but watch out for the monsters.


Atari 8-bit Qix!

In this game, you paint your territory. You draw rectangles and other shapes to claim your territory and you can either draw these rectangles fast or slow. Drawing the rectangles using the slow method awards you the most points. Once a rectangle is drawn, the console colours it in.

Regardless of how you interpret the game title, you are armed with a knife and are sent on a mission against hordes of enemy fighters.

Space Invaders

In this classic 1980s arcade game, Earth is under attack from several rows of bomb dropping aliens. Defending the planet with your laser cannon and have three shields for defence. The shields don’t last forever, so be quick and kill off the aliens. Each successive level gets harder as the aliens speed up and are closer tot he planet. From time to time a flying saucer will pass by along the top of the screen.

The original idea cam from mad magazine. The black crow and the white crow are out to beat each other before the time bell rings. Each spy is equally matched and always trying to beat out each other. Find the needed objects by digging through drawers, closets and furniture in the house. Foil your opponent by setting creative booby traps in the various rooms.

Wandering throughout the arena is a seeker that is capable of firing laser bolts. To win, you need to destroy your opponents shield by using the seeker to fire laser bolts at it. Your weapons consist of a light sabre which is used to control the direction of the laser bolts you fire, as well as block incoming fire from your opponent.

You pilot a ship that is trapped within a chamber of seven tunnels in this fast paced shooter. The tunnels are filled with a variety of enemies with one purpose to kill you so stay sharp. Use your laser blasts to blast the aliens as they streak by. Keep shooting and keep moving, and you will survive to live another day. Slow down and stop and you will not survive.
