Mortal Combat 2
Mortal Combat is a gory fighting game featuring digitised actors. This is a no-rules, fight to the death game. When the game first appeared, it was ridiculed for the gory scenes like pulling peoples heads off and such. The Mortal Combat series was so popular that it was ported to many game consoles and home computers.
It’s 2999 and Mr Muddy threatens your planet. You have a fully armed helicopter at your disposal and it is your mission to defeat your enemies and the bosses at the end of each level.
Rescue your girlfriend from the clutches of an evil gang in this extremely unforgiving side-scrolling beat-em-up. You can only jump-kick and punch numerous thugs, pigs, bulldogs and frogs on your way to the gang’s leader, Mohikan.
Myth: History in the making
You are a mere mortal who has been called by the Gods to defeat several mythological creatures that have been turned bad by the evil Dameron. Game levels deal with different mythologies from ancient Greece to the Vikings. Dodge traps, jump over fire pits and slay hordes of beasts. Use different weapons and power-ups to offset the ever increasing difficulty.
Nick Faldo’s Championship Golf
There are two courses plus a hidden nine-hole course on Mars with reduced gravity with match play and stroke play options against one of eight varied-difficulty computer players. This not a traditional golf game by any stretch. The strength of a shot is chosen before you start the swing but you have to click within a range to activate the shot. An extra click can be made to add wrist snap that increases the shot’s power.
Nigel Mansell’s World Championship
The game was pitched somewhere in between a full-blown simulation like F1 GP and action games like Continental Circus. Each race lasts between three and 20 laps with 12 cars in each race. Before each race, you can customise wing down force, gear ratio, tire selection and fuel load. The 16-bit versions include a unique Improve With Mansell mode where a digitised version of Nigel’s head appears in the top corner of the screen offering instructions and praise.
This is a typical side-scrolling beat-’em-up game consisting of a succession of fights. You play a ninja whose mission is to go through the playfield and kill everyone in your path.
North & South
Based on the French comic book, “Les Tuniques Bleues”, this strategy game allows you to replay the American Civil War from both the North and the South sides. In the strategy part of the game, you can move your troops on a map of the US. If two opposing armies enter the same state, the battle is played out in an action sequence. Additional action sequences must be accomplished when capturing an enemy fort or train. The game also offers a two-player-mode.
Wil Mason is somehow transported to Middlemere that is ruled by four rival brothers. Your mission is to find out how and why you were transported.

You are part of Operation Wolf: your mission to rescue prisoners from the enemy. Through a series of missions, you’ll engage a variety of enemies from soldiers to ninjas to patrol boats and helicopters. Another arcade game by Taito. As with other games, simply hold down the fire button and hit everything. Shoot ammo and grenades and heal items on screen.
You have to run and jump through seven Levels in Hollywood to find Oscars. Once you have enough Oscars, you proceed to the next level. As expected, there are enemies that must be killed, which can be done by jumping on them.
Out of this World
You play Lester, a young physics professor. You suddenly find yourself in a strange alien world after a lightning struck. Your mission is simple, you must fight for our life with your bare hands. As you move through the game, watch out for items to defend yourself like a gun. Each enemy you encounter requires a different strategy with a single solution. One of the aliens is there and will help you escape from prison and assists you on your quest.
Race across varied terrain in your red Ferrari with your female passenger over a series of short tracks. Game play is viewed form just above and behind the car, so you can see it. The roads are full of sharp bends and hazards. Contact with any hazard will either cause you to flip and roll, spin out or crash. The result is always the same: lost time. Time is very critical. Time lost seems to compound and become more of a problem in later tracks.
Out Run Europa
The third game in the OutRun series, which revolutionised the third-person perspective style of racing games. The levels are set across Europe. Your mission is simple, drive as fast as you can to out run the police. A different vehicle is used on each level. You must complete each level within the strict time limits while dodging roads filled with other cars to avoid and overtake.
P-47 Thunderbolt: The Freedom Fighter
The P-47 was one of the toughest planes in use in World War 2, and this side-scrolling shoot ’em up puts you in control of one as you take on hordes of Nazis. 16-bit versions have a simultaneous 2-player mode, as well as the ability to wrap-around the game with increased difficulty up to 4 times. You are initially armed with a machine gun, but can also pick up bombs, spray missiles and multi-missiles by picking up the appropriate letter. Each weapon can be upgraded by picking up further tokens of the same type.
As the game begins, you find yourself drafted on your way to boot camp. Depending on your marksmanship shown here, you are given the rank of Private, Sergeant, or General. With each rank comes a separate mission and a different map. After escaping from the jungle, you look at your map and decide where to go. Choose your desired location by firing at one of the ones below: 1) The Village; 2) The Armory; 3) Directly to the Camp
Pac-Mania is a variation on the game Pac-Man. Like Pac-man, eat all of the dots to proceed to the next round and the multi-colored ghosts roam the maze trying to stop you. If you eat one of the power pellets in the maze, the ghosts will temporarily turn blue and run from you. Now for what makes this game different than its forerunner. The maze is in 3-D, the screen is larger that scrolls to follow the and Pac-Mancan now jump.
Your goal is to destroy balloons of varying size.
In this spiteful arcade game, your job is to deliver papers to your customers while inflicting damage to non-customers. Watch out for obstacles in your way both on the road and the sidewalk. Obstacles include: construction workers, rogue tires, skateboarders, dogs and cats, cars, and even the occasional tornado.
